Double or multi-layer metal-to-metal sheets/plates have been used to treat surfaces in many applications e.g. passivation, galvanisation, PCV, CVD coating and painting on material surfaces for purposes such as improving aesthetics and wear-and-corrosion resistance.

Features and specifications of double or multi-layer metal-to-metal sheets:

1. Top layer of the material is in the range of 50 microns to several mm
2. Size of sheet can be up to 500mm wide and several metres long
3. Can form single or multi-layer plates with varying thickness and surface features
4. Possible to use various types of materials such as metallic, carbide or ceramics.

Advantages
Some advantages of the process over conventional forming:

1. Produces double or multi-layer metal-to-metal sheets/ plates costeffectively
2. Produces thin plates/sheets with specific or customised dimensions
3. Forms thin plates/sheets with surface channel/ through channel/ additional features on top of the plate
4. Able to form thin plates/sheets of several dozen micron thickness.
5. Has isotropic shrinkage in all directions
6. Can be used for specific or generalpurpose applications differing from the conventional surface treatment.
